Recruiting Centres

Centre/Clinician Inclusion Criteria

Each participating centre (and Principal Investigator; PI) has been identified on the basis of:

· Being an NHS out-patient neurosurgical, pain or orthopaedic clinic

· Having at least one lead clinician with a specific interest in, and responsibility for supervision and management of patients diagnosed with sciatica secondary to a prolapsed intervertebral disc

· Showing enthusiasm to participate in the study

· Demonstrating clinical equipoise (i.e., having no preference for either treatment)

· Ensuring that sufficient time, staff and adequate facilities are available for the trial

· Planning to provide information to all supporting staff members involved with the trial or with other elements of patient management

· Feasibility data confirms that they have a number of eligible patients

· Acknowledging and agreeing to conform to the administrative and ethical requirements and responsibility of the study including adhering to GCP, the trial protocol and other regulatory documentation
